Festive Cranberry Chutney

  • 2 pounds fresh whole cranberries

  • 10 whole cloves

  • 2-3inch cinnamon sticks

  • ¼ tsp. Salt

  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar

  • 1 ½ cups sugar

  • ¼ cup water

  • 1 ½ cups dark raisins

  • 1 – 10 oz. Package chopped dates1 to 2 Tbsp orange flavoured liquor (optional)

Whisk the eggs, cream, nutmeg and seasonings.  Mix a little of the mixture with the flour, then stir in the remaining egg mixture.  Arrange the asparagus, olives, slices of the cheese in a deep pie plate, pour the egg mixture over and sprinkle on the parmesan cheese.  Dot with bits of butter (if desired) and bake for about 40 minutes until the quiche is golden

Can add bits of crisp bacon if desired
